Does the OM (3.1 xxxx) give cyrilic symbols or I did something do by? All cyrilic symbols on russian RSS feeds and websites looks like "[]" for me.
Does the OM (3.1 xxxx) support cyrilic symbols or I did something wrong?
If you're talking about small font we've never supported cyrillic symbols.
And why is it so hard to incorporate it in russian version in place of western umlauts? not too many russians out there :-? Are they thus welcomed to use mod? anyone cares :-?
People can use whatever they want on their cell phone. But any talk about the mod here will prove in banning.
A we make it ourselves it's not been on top of the priority list.
Very strange priority list as for russian Opera users who occupy about 10% of market share in Russia and Ukraine.
Yes interesting indeed but as far as I know the topic discusses SMALLfont rendering of cyrillic letters come up non-rendering of course :-)

I wasn't sure if you were or not. ManneS certainly was but you never specified that in the OP. Then you just kind of ran with it when ManneS talked about it. Either way glad you got your answer.
if you give this for small font you experience that you will have much more consumers who come from non-alphabetical countries like those that use asian and cyrillic as im living in another country i cant go to korean website the only possible is to support korean small fonts this must have been on the top of the priority list.
It's just a shame!Russian Opera community is very big and do a lot to broadcast Opera. And such comments:

It's version 4 already and we comfort not on piority enumerate?
Really you put Russian (and I believe all Cyrillic) language users in condition in which they need to use some other options. Just see how big Cyrillic community:

BTW what about a runtime conversion / downscaling / edge smoothing of non-supported fonts? I can change surface write a label snippet that shows how it can be done (of cover runtime performance may suffer.) It'd certainly help with for example. Symbian devices where even the medium charsize is VERY big.
It's not a matter if we want to do it or not of course we be to alter Opera Mini better for all markets! However the custom small font we supply is kept as small as possible for a cerebrate and adding Cyrilic glyphs to it ordain of course make it larger. Making it larger would mean that we probably would be to drop other features in order to act the Opera Mini small enough or put higher strain on the RMS which old Motorola phones (the triplets and the V3 and it's sister phones) have problems with already becuase of bugs and limitations in the phones software. If you analyse the Russian mod you will see that the register size is huge if you compare it with a regular Opera Mini which ordain break installation on many phones. I'm not saying that we wont support Cyrilic in our custom small font in the future. I'm just explaining why we don't support it yet. And we do give Cyrilic if the phones java system supports it it's just that the Motorolas in question doesn't supply a native small font desire almost every other telecommunicate copy out on the merchandise.
Thanks for explanation. Lunkwill. I heard that Opera has "low memory" and "normal" versions of Opera Mini. Can at least "normal" version has support for small Cyrilic fonts?Maybe you should start considering to develop special "national" versions...
AFAIK Opera provides separate localized versions which can be downloaded here after selectiong your telecommunicate model. There's a drop-down enumerate with available languages. Maybe there's a chance that adding cyrillic symbols to the existing font won't increase the distibution much? And it may be done to the Russian localized version only so it won't comprehend other users. I've got a BenQ-Siemens EF-81 phone which has no good small-sized fonts. Built-in fonts are just too large to surf the web comfortably.
